MAQ Cricket59 draft October 16

 The draft for the new format of cricket called the Maq Cricket59 will take place on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Phillipsburg in St. Maarten. This according to president of the Adam Sanford Cricket Management Group tm (ASCMG) Adam Sanford. CMG will be hosting the tournament on behalf of Cricket Council USA (CCUSA) as the American Sports Management body looks to assist with the development of cricket in the Caribbean Islands. The tournament will take place among five teams with total prize money in the range of US$10,000. There will also be other incentives for players as the 59-ball tournament makes it debut. Sanford added that the draft which will take place at venue to be announced soon.

We will see a number of international players involved. Some of them are Andre Fletcher, Aaron Jones, Darren Sammy, Fahad Babar, Krishmar Santokie, Dwayne Smith, and Sulieman Benn. The draft will be ‘live’ on Maqtv CaniTV and social media so that everyone could follow the fortunes of the different teams in terms of who they pick up. The tournament takes place at the Carib Lumber Ball Park from November 8th to 10th.This is the second time this year that CCUSA is sponsoring a cricket tournament in St. Maarten as earlier on they assisted with the Adam Sanford Cricket Four Life tournament which was hugely popular. Even recently CCUSA through it’s media arm Maq Media sponsored coverage of the Nagico Invitational T20 tournament that was hosted by the St. Maarten Cricket Association.

CCUSA have partnered with Adam Sanford CMG tm and have a vision and a 10 -year plan for the development of cricket in the Caribbean Islands. We are both grateful and thankful that Sanford shares the same vision and passion as us and we are very happy that we can work together in developing the game of cricket that we all love and is passionate about. We will continue to work hard to make Cricket a force to be reckoned with here on the island of St. Maarten and the Caribbean at large.
